Dr Danny Beath

Advisor on Autism Spectrum Disorders

Danny Beath

Dr Danny Beath went to over 16 separate schools including 3 boys boarding schools in his youth and then briefly trained as a horticulturalist at college in the early eighties before doing a BSc in Botany (Reading 1984-87) followed by a PhD in tropical ecology at Aberdeen (189-93).  He did field work in West Africa and Central America during the nineties before settling down in Shrewsbury in 2000, to pursue a career as a fine art wildlife photographer.

Danny talks on what it is like to be different and how he was treated as a child and subsequent life as an independent adult, playing his artistic strengths to the maximum. (i.e. Danny sees the world through vivid colours, smells and sounds and find words/numbers an alien concept).
