Accessibility Features
We have tried to make our website accessible to as many people as possible and have included a number of features which can be used to assist you with reading and navigation.
Skip Navigation
For those who would like to skip navigation and browse directly to the text of our pages, we have included a skip navigation link (skipnav) at the beginning of each page which should allow users of screen reader technology to jump directly to the page content.
Menu
Our main menu can be used without a mouse by pressing F12 and using the scroll arrows. There is also a site map located at the bottom of every page in the website.
Links
All hyperlinks on the website have title attributes and all images have alt descriptions.
Site Map
This is located at the bottom of every page and can be accessed by clicking the sitemap link on the left of the panel. If you cannot access the bottom site map, an alternative is provided here.
Background Colours
On the top right of every page there are four background colour and text options available to assist users in reading our website. These can be accessed by clicking the relevant colour box.
Text Re-sizing
We have included an enlarge text button at the top of every page which can be accessed by clicking the large letter 'A' on the right hand side. Text can be returned to the default size by clicking the small letter 'A'
Alternatively, text can be re-sized through your browser as instructed below.
Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.0, 5.5 and 6.0
- Open the browser
- Select View from the top menu
- Select Text Size from options list
- Select from Small, Medium, Large or Largest
Netscape 6.2, 7.0 and 8.1, Mozilla Firefox 1.5, 2.0
- Open the browser
- Hold down Ctrl button and press the + key. This will enlarge text. If you want to enlarge further, repeat the procedure
- To make text smaller press Ctrl on keyboard and minus ( - ) key
Apple Safari 1.2 and 2.0
- Open the browser
- Hold down Apple Key and press ( + ) key. This will enlarge text. If you want to enlarge further, repeat the procedure
- To make text smaller press Apple Key on keyboard and press the minus ( - ) key
