Walk for Autism Research in The Alnwick Garden

Once again Autistica returned to Northumberland to join our friends in the North East at The Alnwick Garden. Just under 300 people came and enjoyed a choice of walks covering two, three or five miles. The event raised thousands of pounds for the charity and also helped to create more awareness of the need for research into autism.
There was lots of entertainment provided on the day, including H20 Northumbrian Water employees dressed as cartoon superheros who greeted children and posed with them for photos. There was live music and an unexpected performance from The Heaton Voices choir! Kirsty Rhodes ran a highly successful Tombola and Taffy Thomas, Laureate Storyteller MBE delighted everyone with his stories in The Roost at the Treehouse. Our thanks to everyone who helped and supported us, all the walkers, Northumbrian Water and a special thank you to Barry and Brenda Taylor.
