Sunday 19th September 2010
WELL DONE and a huge thank you for our 2009 Great North Run team – Alice, Jack, Phoebe, Gavin, Jimmy, Dawn, Heather, Paula, David, Adam, Danny, Vicky, Jennie, Laura, Mike and Rachel.
Always a popular race, this race was oversubscribed in 2009 – so do get signed up asap.
Described on the GNR website this year as ‘THE most iconic half-marathon on the planet’!
The Great North Run is the world’s most popular half marathon and certainly the biggest half-marathon in the UK. Participants run between Newcastle upon Tyne and South Shields - the run was devised by former Olympic 10,000m bronze medallist and BBC Sports Commentator Brendan Foster with the first ever half-marathon staged in 1981. There were then 12,000 runners and today there are as many as 53,000.
If you would like to be a part of such a great race - then please register online - we will give you all the support and help you need to make this your greatest race yet!!!
