Autistica has an exciting six-month role for a policy or campaigning professional who will support a new coalition of charities supporting people living with neurodevelopmental conditions.

Neurodevelopmental conditions (NDCs) are differences in how the brain grows and develops. NDCs affect up to 10% of the population and can cover a huge range of conditions, including learning disabilities, autism, speech and language problems, ADHD, Tourette’s, dyslexia, dyspraxia, Down syndrome and many more. This role will be hosted by Autistica, the UK’s autism research charity, who chair the coalition.

In this role you will coordinate the coalition’s activities, widen its membership and develop plans for further joint working, potentially including joint research. By working together, charities will combine for better research and information, lobby government with one voice and fast-track funding for new science to create practical solutions for everybody with NDCs.

This is a six-month contract from April to September 2019 with the potential to extend or become permanent as the coalition develops. We particularly welcome applications from people with neurodevelopmental conditions. The role is intended to be full-time but we will consider applications from candidates seeking to work part-time.

Salary band:
£25,000-32,000 per annum depending on experience

Location: London Bridge – some flexible working (e.g. working from home) is encouraged.
