We are truly saddened that our founder, Dame Stephanie Shirley CH, passed away aged 91 on 9 August 2025, following a short illness.

Steve left clear wishes that she didn't want a public funeral or any memorial service when she died. However, we know many of you have been touched by Steve and her story and want to pay tribute to such an outstanding woman. That's why we're inviting you to donate today in her memory.

Though she didn’t want ‘a fuss’ being made, we know Steve would have been deeply touched if you chose to support our work as a way of remembering her.
