Before you begin fundraising for Autistica, you must agree to the terms and conditions outlined below. This agreement sets out the fundraising terms between you and Autistica.

Terms and conditions for charity and mixed sponsorship places

If you have a charity place, are fundraising through sponsorship, or are on a mixed fundraising basis, please read the following terms carefully.

• I understand that this event is organised by a third-party event organiser, not Autistica. It is my responsibility to read and comply with any terms and conditions set by the event organiser.

• I confirm that I am medically and physically fit to take part in this event and do so at my own risk. Autistica is not responsible for any injury or illness related to my training or participation.

• I understand that Autistica may need to share my name and email address with the event organiser and, where necessary, with other third parties involved in the event’s administration.

• I will complete the event organiser’s registration process when contacted, as I understand this is required to confirm my place. If I fail to do so by the deadline set by Autistica, my place will be cancelled, and my registration fee will not be refunded.

• I understand that my registration fee is non-refundable under any circumstances and does not count towards my fundraising target.

• My place in the event cannot be transferred to another person or event.

• I commit to raising at least the fundraising target specified for my event and will collect and submit all funds to Autistica within four weeks of the event. (The minimum fundraising target for the London Marathon is £2500).

• I understand that if I do not meet my fundraising commitment or other agreed obligations, Autistica reserves the right to cancel my place in the event.

• I acknowledge that all funds raised for Autistica are held in trust, and I am legally responsible for ensuring that Autistica receives the donations.

• I commit to raising at least 50% of my fundraising target one month before the event (or two months before The London Marathon).

• I understand that Gift Aid can take 8–10 weeks or more to be processed by HMRC and will not count towards my fundraising target.

• If I am unable to take part in the event, I will notify Autistica by email as soon as possible.

Deferral policy

• If I need to defer my place, Autistica will allow this under the following conditions:

- At the time of my request, I have raised at least 50% of my fundraising target.
- I have not deferred entry for this event before.
- I notify Autistica before the deadline. The latest possible date to request a deferral is the Friday before the event.

• Once my deferral is confirmed:

- All funds raised will transfer to next year’s event.
- I will continue fundraising until I reach my full target.

• Deferrals are at Autistica’s discretion and depend on availability for the following year. Autistica reserves the right to refuse a deferral and will only offer deferrals to the next year’s event.

Terms and conditions for self-funded participants

If you have your own place or are self-funding your entry, please read the following terms carefully.

• I understand that this event is organised by a third-party event organiser, not Autistica. It is my responsibility to read and comply with any terms and conditions set by the event organiser.

• I confirm that I am medically fit to take part in this event and do so at my own risk. Autistica is not responsible for any injury or illness related to my training or participation.

• I understand that any registration fee I have paid goes directly to the event organiser and that their terms and conditions apply.

• I understand that Autistica may ask for proof that I have secured my own place from the event organiser.

• I will do my best to raise as much money as possible for Autistica.

• If I am unable to take part in the event, I will notify both the event organiser and Autistica by email as soon as possible.

• If I need to defer my place, I understand that it is my responsibility to arrange this directly with the event organiser, subject to their discretion and terms. I will inform Autistica so that any funds I have raised can count towards my fundraising target for the following year, and Autistica can continue to support my fundraising efforts.

General fundraising terms and conditions

The following terms and conditions apply to all Autistica fundraisers.

• I understand that donations are generally non-refundable, even if I withdraw from or do not take part in the event.

• If my fundraising event date changes or is postponed, I will notify Autistica so they can update their records.

• I will fundraise in a way that does not endanger or harm myself, my supporters, or the public. I will follow any fundraising guidelines provided by Autistica.

• I will respect people’s privacy and will not fundraise in a way that could be considered persistent or aggressive.
