The Neurodiversity Employers Index (NDEI®) is the first gold-standard, evidence-based workplace neuroinclusion index. It was launched in 2024 to help organisations attract and retain neurodivergent talent and support thriving neurodiverse teams. Companies can register now to join the 2025 cohort, ahead of the submission period opening on 1 July.

In 2024, 118 pioneering organisations spanning 10 sectors participated in the NDEI®, to learn more about becoming leaders in workplace neuroinclusion. 100% of those who provided feedback said that they would recommend the NDEI® to others.

Dr James Cusack, Autistica Chief Executive, said:

‘The organisations that took part last year clearly do a lot to support neurodivergent staff, but we found some common areas for development, including recruitment and onboarding, as well as staff training. The NDEI® helps companies to identify these opportunities so that they can work on the things that matter.’

Organisations who take part in the NDEI® will be asked to complete a series questions about their policies and practices and their employees will answer a survey to share thoughts on their employer's inclusion efforts. On completion, employers will receive a confidential, scored report and a personalised roadmap for change. Fees to take part are scaled based on the size of the organisation, with special rates for charities.

Zack Walker, COO at Jamesscape, said:

‘Last year, we participated in the NDEI® and obtained a silver award. With the structure of the NDEI®, it's easy to complete, and you're taking part in something significant…We’re motivated and inspired to continue that thread and see how we can follow best practices and become a beacon for inclusion for local Small and Medium Enterprises.’

The NDEI® is relevant to organisations that are new to neuroinclusion in the workplace and those with more extensive strategies. It has been tested with organisations across industry sectors, company sizes, and regions. Organisations can choose to keep their participation private or celebrate publicly through the NDEI® awards.

Companies can register their interest now and start the process when the platform opens on 1 July.
